Essex County Cricket Ground: Master plan, Detailed planning consent, and phase one Completed
MCD as development partner for Essex County Cricket Club, master planned the entire project, secured detailed planning consent and completed phase one.
The scheme when completed will rebuild the Cricket facilities of Essex County Cricket Club providing over 65,000 sq ft of space for members and visitors to enjoy, including a media centre, a new pavilion and conferencing facilities. The capacity of the ground itself will be increased to 8,000 seats.
This major transformation facilitates the development of over 300 high specification residential apartments over 4 towers, many of which will have superb views over the cricket ground, Central Park and the River Can. Conveniently situated just 10 minutes’ walk to the train and bus stations, giving direct access to central London (Liverpool Street) in 30 minutes and to Stratford (Docklands) in 24 minutes. The A12 is also within easy reach, providing excellent access to the M25.
Also included in this mixed use development master plan is over 15,000 sq ft of retail and leisure facilities surrounding a new public piazza area all served by a new pedestrian bridge across the river providing improved routes through to Central Park and the town centre.
