Award-winning regeneration specialist, MCD Developments Ltd (MCD) has started fitting out 119 apartments in Horizon, the first phase of Cabot Circus Living, the main residential part of the acclaimed development. The first phase of apartments will be ready to move into this summer.
With landscaped gardens, open spaces and views over the greenery of Castle Park, the Floating Harbour and the piazza around historic Quakers Friars, the apartments are within window shopping range of exclusive shops, quality restaurants and entertainment.
Four storeys above street level, Horizon comprises five separate buildings set around a communal landscaped 'garden in the sky', which provides a peaceful, secluded setting for living in the heart of the city.
The range of apartments includes pied-a-terre studios, one, two and three bedroom apartments and penthouses, with prices starting from £189,500
Nearly all of the apartments have balconies or terraces where residents can enjoy the cityscape views and are being fitted out in a style befitting the sophistication of Quakers Friars, where top brands include Harvey Nichols, Ghost, Molton Brown and Radley, and restaurants include Raymond Blanc's famous Brasserie Blanc and Carluccios.
A marketing suite for Horizon and Eclipse is already open on Wine Street, offering potential purchasers the opportunity to gather more information before a fully furnished show home apartment at Horizon opens to the public in the spring.
Steven Byrne, MCD chief executive explains what makes the apartments special: "They tick all the boxes. Where else can you live a stone's throw from designer shops and cafes, enjoy views from your own balcony over lush parkland or a European-style piazza and at the same time, have access to a private garden. It really is city living at its best."
The residential buildings were initially developed by the Bristol Alliance, the partnership behind Cabot Circus. Horizon was handed over to residential developer MCD late last year, allowing for internal fit out to begin. Eclipse, an innovatively-designed 15-storey elliptical tower rising above the Harvey Nichols store, will be handed over for fitting out later this spring and is due for completion towards the end of next year (2010).
MCD has developed a strong reputation for the design and quality of the homes it creates, which has been recognised through numerous national design and environmental awards. A major player in Birmingham's fashionable canal network, it has since spread its wings nationally, with regeneration schemes at Essex County Cricket Ground in Chelmsford, a riverside apartment scheme in Bedford and developments in Norwich and Coventry.
The marketing suite for Horizon and Eclipse is open seven days a week, Monday - Saturday 10.30 - 5pm, Sunday 11 - 4pm, for more information please call direct on (0117) 929 7814.
